5 Reasons why you should crochet

 

   Let's start with the stereotype that stops many of you from crocheting, that is :" OH only old ladies are crocheting " or " Crocheting is just for grannies ".

   The answer to all this negative thinking is to start trying, so we arrive to our first reason 

1. Relaxing 

    If you don't try something out, you won't know if you love it or not.

   Thinking back to your childhood you remember that your 70 years old grandma or a 70-80 years old ladies were always busy with their yarn,their hooks or their knitting needles.

    Let's start here , this is the first reason and the most important reason, that is: crocheting is relaxing. 

     Now that we nailed the dot on the i, we arrived to the second reason, that is:

2. Improves your health 

      There are so many articles and scientific research that shows a life with less stress brings a longer life and a healthier life. 

     Counting stitches and rows, brings a huge benefit in our life. Exactly like meditation, when you count stitches and rows your brain will stop thinking about why something happened in your life or why it didn't happen, so it helps you let go of what happened or didn't happen. 

3. Brings satisfaction 

   Now we are going to that part when you finish a project. The first project you will finish will bring you so much satisfaction, you will feel like you won the lottery, you will feel like a toddler that was able to do something for the first time. 

  And let me tell you a secret with every project you finish the satisfaction will be the same, even tho you use the same pattern, the same type of yarn the 2 projects will always be unique and different.

    You can see here a perfect example: I used the same type of yarn, the same crochet hook and the same pattern ( the pattern you can find on etsy : ) but the bunnies are all unique.



  Whit this said we arrived at our 4th reason 

4. Everything is unique 

    The most wonderful thing about handmade is that everything is unique. You won't find 2 exactly the same paintings, or 2 exactly the same crocheted teddy bears, or 2 exactly the same knitted cardigans.  

    If it's handmade is unique, exactly like our hands, you won't find 2 people with the same fingerprints. 

  With this said we arrived at our last reason why you should crochet and that is: 

5. A unique gift

    We all have people dear to us that we love and gift them everything plus our hearts.      

   When we gift something that is made by us we do gift more than everything plus our hearts, because we made it with all our good wishes, with all our love and with all our soul.
